About Saputara

Saputara is Gujarat’s only hill station, located in the Dang district and nestled within the beautiful Sahyadri (Western Ghats) mountain range at an altitude of about 1,000 meters above sea level. The name "Saputara" translates to the "Abode of Serpents," inspired by the winding Sarpanganga river that flows nearby resembling a serpent. The region enjoys a cool and refreshing climate throughout the year, making it a popular tourism destination.

The hill station is surrounded by lush forests, rolling green valleys, and mist-covered viewpoints offering mesmerizing panoramas. Scenic hotspots like Sunrise Point, Sunset Point, and Table Point are favorites among visitors. The serene Saputara Lake at the heart of the town is ideal for boating and leisure walks.

Adventure and nature lovers can explore iconic attractions such as Hathgadh Fort, Gira Falls, Echo Point, and Purna Wildlife Sanctuary. Vansda National Park, rich with unique flora and fauna, adds to the ecological charm of the region.

Saputara also reflects the vibrant culture of the local Adivasi (tribal) communities. Visitors can experience traditional art and crafts at the Artist Village, and enjoy culturally rich tribal dance performances, especially during festivals like Holi.

Combining natural beauty, adventure, and cultural heritage, Saputara offers a peaceful and memorable hill station experience — a true gem in the heart of Gujarat.
